For the time being…

9646 (2) I’m re-evaluating my involvement with this site and what I’m putting out here. I’ve removed the ability for new members to sign up.

There will be changes to the way I’m presenting and distributing work here. That being said, members will have continued access for as long as their subscriptions run. There may still be a membership option available. I just don’t know at this point.

The problem is personal: my intention has been to create art yet, not surprisingly, I’ve picked up the stigma of porn along the way. And it’s a stigma that’s difficult to deal with. Yes, I’ve joked about being a porn producer, but creating art is what I wanted to do. And it’s what I will do. It’s just unfortunate that the view towards nudity and erotica is so relentlessly 18th century.

I don’t know yet how I’m going to re-work Headless. Just know that it’s not going to be this. As I said, members will still have access to everything behind the curtain.

Look for changes to come.

Well hello!

2662 Hi there, people. I’ve added three more preview galleries up in the public area of this site, one of Anastasia (Catholic School Girl Revisited), and two of Madison (Streets of South Beach and Stockings Only). The full galleries are, of course, available in the Member’s Area.

1123 Just wanted to make you aware of all of this niftiness, especially given that I haven’t written an update on the public part of this site in a while. Debating still whether to post updates in the free area of what’s going on in the member’s area. I guess I’ll do that.

Anyway, check out the additional sets in the free galleries.

You can support the arts (and gain access to the Member’s Area) by making donations here.

Something about…

016854 (7)      In the hall outside her room is some doctor, a woman in a white coat holding a clipboard. She has, it looks like, long dark hair twisted into the shape of a little black brain on the back of her head. She’s not wearing makeup so her face just looks like skin. A pair of black-framed glasses are folded and sticking out of her chest pocket.
Is she in charge of Mrs. Mancini, I ask.
The doctor looks at the clipboard. She unfolds the glasses and slips them on and looks again, the whole time saying, “Mrs. Mancini, Mrs. Mancini, Mrs. Mancini…”
She keeps clicking and unclicking a ballpoint pen in one hand.
I ask, “Why is she still losing weight?”
The skin along the parts in her hair, the skin above and behind the doctor’s ears, is as clear and white as the skin inside her other tan lines must look. If women knew how their ears come across, the firm fleshy edge, the little dark hood at the top, all the smooth contours, coiled and channeling you to the tight darkness inside, well, more women would wear their hair down.

- from Choke by Chuck Palahniuk (on Amazon)

Fantastic novel on every front.

016515 But regarding the topic at hand…. Agreed? or No? I find there is something supremely sensual about a woman’s ear. Photographically speaking, ears can make or break a photo. I’ve taken photos that, in reviewing them, they were near to complete perfection but they’ll never be posted because the ears weren’t sensuous enough for a certain image or they were diametrically opposed to what that particular image was trying to convey. Most often in what I shoot, though, the ear is neatly just out of view or… right there. :)

Changes and upcoming

4101 (Closer Edition) I’ve been working over the past few days to get things tidied up on the site to have it completely and 100% done. None of the changes are visible yet as I’m waiting to wrap up the billing.

I’m building out sizable galleries in the public area which is taking some time as well. Also, I’m going to throw up some trailers as well.

In any event, this is what’s going on here. Also…. there will be a rather nice update coming this week in the members area. Stay tuned. :)

Content management systems

5922 (Monochrome Edition) I’ve been spending the past couple of days reviewing content management systems for an adult site that I’m building out for another model (not Delila in the photo, by the way). This is actually something I’m really enjoying. HeadlessBuddha.com is built on a very simple system and customized entirely by me. And it makes it easy that way; I don’t have to fool with much.

This other site (or family of sites) is going to have a bast structure that’s entirely different. Rather impressed with some of the offerings out there for adult content management systems. Some of them are kind of crappy, but then there are a couple that throw every possible option at you. Waiting on a walkthrough right now with one company…

A Concept Wherein I Request your Feedback

9692 There’s something that I really want to do with Headless Buddha but I’m not quite sure how to handle the details of it. It’s been part of the concept of the buddha from the outset but I haven’t implemented it yet and you’ll understand why in a second.

One of the things I want to do with Headless is make it a site that’s very worthwhile for the models that appear on it. I want to give the models a percentage of any revenue that they generate. And I’d see this happening in two ways:

1) Generate money via a subscription service. I’d like for people to sign up to join HeadlessBuddha.com and I’d like to give the models a percentage of that. My initial thought was to have people who are signing up for the subscription service specify their favorite model (or the model that inspired them to signup) and then split 50% of the net with the model. Granted, for a $7.95 subscription, it would take a number of subscriptions to make the model any money. But if they buy into it, and people buy into it…

2) The other method is generating money via sales of prints. Say that someone decides to buy a print of a certain model: I’d like for her to have 50% of the net for the sale.

I realllllllllly want this to work. But I need to figure out some things about it. For example, tracking sales, figuring out disbursement schedules, trying to figure out who a whole mess of crap, what the relation is to the model when money is disbursed (by way of model release, typically any monetary arrangement for any shoot is executed one-time and paid at the time of the shoot with no further guarantee of any monies), and so on and so forth.

0953 (Monochrome Edition) Then there’s the issue of approaching the models I’ve already shot (some aren’t aware of my concept, some are) and saying, “Hey, you have the option of da-da-da-da-da. Would you like a percentage?” And what kind of contract or any (if maybe these are simply donations?) I would need to draw up for older models and newer models?

It’s a lot to consider but I really, really want this to be part of the site. I want models to feel that it’s worth their while. Apart from the photos and videos being something other than porn… apart from them getting quality shoots… I want them to get something else out of it (beyond being paid up front, if that’s our agreement).

So your feedback on this would be appreciated. How can I make this work? Is there a better idea that’s conceptually the same or some reasonable way to make this happen. Any legal feedback in the bunch would be greatly appreciated.

Cap’n

Because of what I do, I get a variety of different emails from time to time. From time to time, I get emails from a local porn talent producer. I’m on his list so he’ll send out very standard shots of girls available for work. There’s usually a handful of photos in the set: one nude front shot, one nude back shot, one nude profile, and then maybe a nude upperbody shot. Included with the photos is the model stats and the type of work they do. On occasion, I’ll get photos of couples and their included stats. The photo below is from such an email.

When I saw this, my SECOND thought was, “Well, looks like someone has a little captain in him!”
The first thought was, “Couldn’t we have moved like four feet over to take this photo or at LEAST unplugged the Glade Air Freshener? Because I’m looking at this image and thinking it must not smell all that fresh right about there.”

Stages

I’m wrapping up layout on the inside now. I have the menu worked out in my mind of what I want, I just need to create the pages for it. Also, menu items on the front end will change as well although I haven’t given them as much thought.

Would like to have the site layout complete no later than Wednesday of this week and then I’ll be all done with the Buddha in terms of layout and design. I’m pleased with the content (both the quality and quantity) that I’ve been putting up in the members area. I’ve been able to complete sets here and there and get a lot of video up over the past few days. I’ll continue working in that vein for the remainder of this week and then will start to fall into a more regular schedule, I believe. Or, that’s the way I see it going anyway.

Feedback has been really positive and I appreciate everyone’s response. Lots of good feedback on the way the videos tie into the photos and so that’s been good.

Anyway, just wanted to mention where things are at and say, once more, thanks for your support. I wouldn’t be here without you.

Shoot with Christie

Erotica, no. 515Should be shooting Christie L’amour today. We were supposed to have our first shoot in about six months this last Thursday but it got rescheduled for today. (Ended up doing a shoot with Salome for The Model Shoots on ipanemic instead.)

I’ll be working with Christie (and friends!) regularly which makes me really happy. She’s just great, great people and shoots beautifully. Really excited to be working with her. Anyway, look for updates coming soon of Christie in the members area, from solo shoots, to girl/girl shoots, and a couple of surprises. :)

Voila.

My god, I’m tired. I was up for roughly 36 hours straight working almost entirely on HeadlessBuddha.com. And it’s launched. Mostly. It’s a private launch for everyone that asked to be notified whose email address I recorded. I had a couple of email bounces so if you asked to be notified and didn’t get an email, 1) check your spam folder and see if there’s an email there from the buddha or 2) email me at scott @ this domain name and I’ll hook you up.

Yesterday was cool. When I was sending out notifications the first time, my server told me that I couldn’t send more than 100 emails an hour and that I had to wait. It made me feel good to have received such interest in the site, that I’d be clogging the server for hours to let people know.

After sleeping the sleep of the gods last night, I’m back this morning to update content on the backend in the members area. Sometime in the week to ten days, I’ll be opening up the members area to anyone who wants into it. Until then, some minor changes will be taking place here on the front end as I get it the way I want but most of the work is going into the members area.

In any event, I would like to say… Hello, I’m Headless. :)
